We currently operate four locations in Louisville and Lexington:Oxmoor Center – LouisvilleFern Creek – LouisvilleHamburg Pavilion – LexingtonThe Summit at Fritz Farm – LexingtonOur practices are located alongside LensCrafters; however, Dr. Snipes & Associates is an independent optometric practice. We maintain our own clinical operations, team, systems, and practice culture, and our optometrists maintain autonomy in the care and treatment of their patients.We are seeking personable, dependable, and patient-focused Optometrists interested in full-time, part-time, or flexible opportunities within our growing practice.The OpportunityOur goal is to give our doctors the resources and support they need to provide excellent patient care while allowing them to practice optometry.Our ODs provide comprehensive primary eye care with opportunities to diagnose and manage medical conditions within the full scope of optometric practice.Depending on the needs and interests of the doctor, patient care may include:Comprehensive eye examinationsRoutine and medical eye careContact lens examinations and fittingsSpecialty contact lens fitting, including scleral and hybrid lensesDry eye evaluation and managementGlaucoma evaluation and managementMyopia management, including MiSight, Ortho-K, and atropineCataract and retinal evaluations and appropriate referral/co- managementEmergency and problem-focused eye carePunctal plug proceduresHuman amniotic membrane allograft treatmentAppropriate referral and co-management with ophthalmology and other specialistsOur doctors maintain clinical autonomy and are expected to use their professional judgment to determine the most appropriate care for each patient.Technology & Diagnostic EquipmentWe believe our doctors should have access to technology that supports high-quality patient care.Our practices utilize advanced diagnostic equipment, including:Essilor digital examination equipmentOptos Daytona retinal imagingOCT30-point automated visual field testingRETeval ERG testingWe routinely incorporate advanced imaging and diagnostic testing when clinically appropriate and encourage our doctors to fully utilize the resources available to them.If there is something our doctors need to provide appropriate patient care that we do not currently have available, we are always willing to explore ways to provide the resources necessary for their success.What We're Looking ForThe right doctor for our practice is someone who combines strong clinical judgment with excellent patient communication.We are looking for an Optometrist who:Provides compassionate, thorough, patient-centered careDemonstrates sound clinical judgmentCommunicates effectively with patients, staff, and fellow providersIs comfortable providing both routine and medical eye careWorks collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teamMaintains accurate and timely patient documentationUtilizes available diagnostic technology appropriatelyProvides appropriate referrals and follow-up careIs dependable, professional, and accountableWorks efficiently while maintaining a high standard of careContributes positively to the culture of the practiceValues teamwork while maintaining independent clinical judgmentPractice SupportOur doctors are supported by an established administrative and clinical team so they can remain focused on patient care.Dr. Snipes & Associates assists our providers with:Provider credentialing and CAQHProfessional liability insurance coverageClinical and administrative supportDiagnostic testing and pretesting supportAppointment scheduling and patient communicationContact lens ordering and supportReferral coordinationPractice management and operational supportScheduling OpportunitiesBecause we operate four locations, we are able to offer a variety of scheduling opportunities depending on current practice needs.Opportunities may include:Full-timePart-timeWeekend coverageTemporary or supplemental coverageOpportunities in Louisville, Lexington, or a combination of locationsSchedules are developed in advance, and we work with our doctors to coordinate availability while ensuring appropriate patient coverage throughout the practice.QualificationsCandidates must:Hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school or college of optometryHold or be eligible to obtain an active Kentucky optometry licenseMeet applicable credentialing requirementsMaintain appropriate continuing education and licensure requirementsDemonstrate professionalism and excellent patient communication skillsNew graduates as well as experienced optometrists are encouraged to apply.Why Dr. Snipes & Associates?We have been caring for patients for more than 30 years, but we continue to grow and evolve.Our doctors have the opportunity to work in an established practice with experienced support staff, advanced technology, diverse patient care, and the ability to practice with clinical autonomy.We want our providers to feel supported-not micromanaged.
