POSITION SUMMARY

\n

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting SOX compliance, leading internal control testing, and external audit coordination, including PBC requests and auditor inquiries. This role also supports financial reporting, month-end close, and job-level financial analytics, while ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies. The position partners with operations and other stakeholders to strengthen control effectiveness, maintain audit readiness, improve accounting processes, and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

The following represents the primary duties and responsibilities of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Coordinate control activities with process owners, validate supporting documentation and evidence, and monitor adherence to established control procedures.
\n
• Identify control gaps, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement; communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and support the development and tracking of remediation plans.
\n
• Support the ongoing evaluation and enhancement of accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance procedures.
\n
• Prepare and review financial reporting packages, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analyses to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
\n
• Support month-end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies.
\n
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company policies.
\n

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

\n

Education:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
\n

\n

Experience:

\n

\n
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, internal controls, SOX compliance, or audit experience.
\n
• Hands-on experience in executing or supporting SOX control testing.
\n
• Experience managing PBC requests, preparing audit support, and responding to auditor inquiries.
\n
• Experience preparing financial reporting packages, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
\n
• Construction industry experience preferred.
\n
• Public accounting experience preferred.
\n

Licenses & Certifications:

• CPA or CPA track
\n

\n

Skills & Competencies:

\n

\n
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and financial reporting principles.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate audit activities, manage multiple requests, and drive deliverable to completion with limited oversight.
\n
• Strong analytical, including the ability to investigate discrepancies, evaluate supporting documentation, identify control gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
\n
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, financial analysis).
\n
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
\n
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
\n
