Interventional Cardiac Nurse

Title: Interventional Cardiac Nurse

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with interventional cardiac patients/procedures
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience highlights: sheath pulls, post-cardiac cath care, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, IV starts/maintenance, managing stable drips
• Experience with procedure sedation and telemetry monitoring
• Proficient in epicardial pacer management and blood product administration
• Experience with TEE, cardioversion, sheath removal, and elective PCI procedures

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing invasive and diagnostic cardiac procedures, including pre/post-operative care.
• Manage and monitor patients with dysrhythmias, ensuring appropriate interventions.
• Perform sheath removals and post-operative assessments following cardiac catheterizations and other interventional procedures.
• Administer IV medications and manage blood products, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Support patients during elective procedures such as TAVR and MitralClip.

Compliance / Notes:

• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years.
• Pre-start modules are required, averaging about 16 hours (non-billable).
