Senior Plant Engineer

Responsibilities Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Senior Plant Engineer will apply technical expertise to support plant operations, partner with multifunctional teams, and optimize performance and longevity. Monitor plant performance and heat balance for continual output and efficiency improvements. Review, understand, apply, and develop internal engineering guidelines, procedures, and standards at the site level in coordination with corporate engineering teams. Contribute to project planning and execution through all phases, including front‑end input and post‑implementation support. Work collaboratively with corporate engineering team members and build strong relationships with other work groups to integrate sound asset engineering practices into day‑to‑day and long‑term efforts. Act as site NERC Compliance Officer, reporting and interfacing with the Capital Power Compliance Team and external stakeholders. Own the Management of Change program at the site level. Provide O&M feedback to the engineering group to advance effective solutions to facility issues. Evaluate the economic benefits of proposed technical solutions and recommend alternatives. Recommend and implement safe and effective engineering solutions related to plant emissions, control systems, equipment failure, and equipment optimization. Improve technical and management skill set through formal and informal training opportunities. Qualifications Completed engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, or a closely related field. Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an operating plant setting. Advanced understanding of pressure piping and vessel design, maintenance, and compliance to codes and standards, and/or rotating equipment and related engineering/technical knowledge (vibration, lube, thermography). Thorough understanding of maintenance processes, methods, and techniques applicable to industrial power‑plant systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Legal eligibility to work in the United States. Pre‑employment drug test clearance and compliance with the Fit For Duty program.
