Assistant Business ManagerQualifications: 1. Computer skills2. Bachelor's Degree in AccountingReports To: Superintendent of Education, the Deputy Superintendent, the Business Manager, and the designee of the SuperintendentJob Goal: To process and accurately maintain all payroll and financial records and accounts for the school districtMission and GoalsWorks with the Superintendent, division/school supervisor, and those whom he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teachingMonitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of system goals and objectivesDevelops goals, objectives, programs, and operations that are consistent with school system vision, mission, and goalsEnsures that unit and program plans are consistent with the system's strategic planOrganizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate learning and teaching in the schoolsManagement of Educational ResourcesSelects and utilizes personnel to meet the needs of the schoolAdministers the finances of the district with sound fiscal management and educational practicesAssists with the development of the budget and makes allocations to schools in an equitable mannerAchieves maximum results for available resources and money spentUnderstands and utilizes technology effectivelyPerformance ResponsibilitiesReceives and receipts all monies received by the school districtPrepares and deposits all monies into the current depositoryCodes each deposit as to the correct fund codes so that input into the computer can be made correctlyReceives all purchase orders from departments and schoolsEvaluates and checks each purchase order to verify vendor name, amount, and fund numbers for correct information for input into the computerEnters all purchase order information into the computer, runs edit, and checks for accuracy of inputEnters into the computer any manual checks and voids checks written for the monthPrepares claim dockets for Superintendent, Business Manager, and School Board Members. Claims docket is prepared after all purchase orders, manual checks, and void check information has been entered into the computer.Monitors activity fundsMonitors each school's use of accounting codesReconciles all bank statements for activity fundsMaintains records of purchases and disbursements of activity fund moniesPerforms any other task as designated by the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent, the Business Manager, and the designee of the SuperintendentTerms of Employment: Ten, eleven, or twelve month year. Salary and work year will be established by the Board.Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
