Cybersecurity Risk Analyst

6 month contract to hire

San Diego, CA (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:


The Information Security Analyst will support the Information Security department in executing the security program. Primary responsibilities will include daily operation and ongoing maintenance of enterprise security platforms. The security analyst must have experience operating these platforms in a high volume, mission critical environment in a financial services or similar business. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with very little direction, possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be highly detail oriented.
Other duties will include:

• Performing web application penetration testing and remediation management
• Operation and optimization of vulnerability management platform
• Operation and optimization of web content management platform
• Operation and optimization of intrusion detection and network forensics platforms
• Data/log analysis of disparate security tools
• Incident response
• Assess and recommend new technologies to align with business objectives

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree with a minimum of
• 3 years Information Security experience (SOX, SOC-1)
• CISSP, GIAC or CISM certifications highly desired
• Advanced knowledge of Windows, Unix, Linux operating systems
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, common protocols services and related security issues (SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP 801.1x, SSL)
• Knowledgeable in programming or scripting languages (C, VB, Perl, Python, shell scripting)
• Experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Strong command of English language (written and oral) at a business level is required
• Technical writing experience
• Experience working in large corporate environments, familiarity with audit processes, familiarity with SAS-70, SEC, NASD regulations as they relate to information security and compliance
• Fundamental understanding of risk management
• Attention to detail
