Job Summary The BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our organization's data infrastructure and reporting solutions, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions based on actionable insights. Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and translate business requirements into scalable data models and reporting structures. Database Development: Design, develop, and optimize data warehouses, data marts, and ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration from multiple sources. Report and Dashboard Development: Create interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using leading BI tools in Power BI to facilitate data‑driven decision‑making. Data Extraction and Transformation: Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources while ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of databases, data models, and queries to optimize data retrieval and processing. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and IT (Information Technology) team members to gather requirements and deliver effective BI solutions that meet business needs. Data Governance and Security: Implement and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and security protocols to safeguard data confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and conduct training sessions to enable end‑users to effectively utilize BI solutions. Contribute to various projects working with minimal supervision, including aiding other departments and team members, as directed. Qualifications – The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate: Experience: Proven track record in a similar BI Developer role, with expertise in data warehousing, ETL processes, database management, and report/dashboard development using leading BI tools. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server). Strong expertise with Power BI. Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration techniques. Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and methodologies. Ability to create compelling reports and dashboards following data visualization best practices. Experience with programming languages like Python or Java would be desirable. Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical reports or dashboards. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, and document processes and requirements. Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a strong commitment to achieving team goals. Working Conditions Indoor office working environment with prolonged sitting. Hybrid work schedule with in‑office and at‑home workdays. Schedule may vary depending on business needs. Other Requirements 3 years’ relevant experience or a combination of education and work experience; telecommunications industry experience, a plus. Relevant certifications in business intelligence and data analytics are desirable. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
