AP Precision Metals, Inc. is San Diego's leading commercial sheet and plate metal fabricator. We are a valuable and long-term supplier to some of San Diego's biggest OEMs, providing a wide range of sheet metal components, weldments, and other metal assemblies. Our entire operation is located at our 40,000 sq. ft. factory located 10 minutes north of the Tijuana/San Diego border and a 5 minute walk from the Iris Trolley station. The company was founded in 1999 by Lane Litke and Victor Miller, and thanks to reliable and honest leadership and the hard work of our entire team, AP Precision has grown an average of 20% per year for the last 25 years. Job Description – Driver

Job Title: Driver

Department: Shipping & Logistics

Reports To : Shipping Supervisor / Production Supervisor

Pay Rate : $22-$26 per hour

Purpose

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of finished goods to customers and vendors using a 25’ stake bed truck. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail, as the driver will frequently interface with customers and represent the company during deliveries.

Primary Duties

• Perform daily deliveries of finished goods within San Diego County using the company’s 25’ stake bed truck.
• Safely transport products to customers and vendors in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Load, pack, and unload parts with accuracy, ensuring product quality and preventing damage.
• Count and verify deliveries and shipments against shipping documents.
• Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal staff during deliveries.
• Represent AP Precision Metals in a professional, courteous, and customer-focused manner.
• Follow all safety requirements, ISO9001 procedures, and company standards.

Additional Duties (as required)

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the stake bed truck and shipping area.
• Report vehicle condition and assist with basic truck maintenance checks.
• Interface with management as needed regarding delivery schedules, customer issues, or logistics concerns.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong English speaking and communication skills.
• Personable, professional, and customer-focused demeanor.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with ability to verify and track shipments accurately.
• Previous delivery or truck driving experience preferred.
• Ability to perform light physical work, including loading and unloading shipments.
• Must be available for 1st shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with flexibility for occasional overtime when shipments run late.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while performing inspections.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and sheet metal handling.
