Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Operator Forklift Operator

Department: Logistics

Supervisor: Logistics Manager

Location: Palestine Facility

Pay Type: Hourly Position

Hiring Range: DOQ

8- Hour Shift, Monday Friday

Position Summary

Executes shipping and receiving processes for incoming and outbound shipments. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of shipping documents completed at shipping dock. Ensures loads shipped out are accurate, complete, and properly documented. Follows process for receiving and recording incoming shipments. Addresses routine issues on the dock. Ensures compliance with employee safety, and shipping process execution. Operates forklift to move materials, and goods.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Safety. Works in a safe manner. Complies with safe work practices at all times. Completes forklift certification as required. Reports unsafe conditions or situation to supervisor or management.
• Processes Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping documents. Inspects, verifies, and completes BOLs and other shipping documents to ensure that shipments are accurate and properly recorded on company documentation. Verifies serial numbers for outgoing and incoming tractors and implements. Reviews BOLs for completeness and accuracy.
• Execution Shipping and Receiving Processes . Executes employee safety guidelines and shipping and receiving process execution standards, including accuracy of required documentation.
• Teamwork and Collaboration. Actively engages in team meetings, and provides timely feedback to team regarding work topics. Understands available resources, and utilizes those resources when appropriate.
• Leadership. Acts with integrity. Treats others with dignity and respect. Delivers on commitments and deadlines.
• Communication . Effectively communicates with team members. Demonstrates sound oral and written communication skills. Communicates effectively and professionally to both internal and external parties. Executes effective customer communication and relationship building techniques.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Documented experience working on a shipping dock, including executing shipping and receiving processes
• Experience operating a forklift, or the ability to be forklift certified within 30 days

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required

• Ability to accurately complete shipping documents, including Bills of Lading and receiving documents
• Ability to enter data accurately and completely into computer-based systems or applications
• Effective communication skills
• Able to effectively work in a team environment
• Must be performance and quality driven.
