Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 1.5 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: EKG interpretation Critical thinking skills Knowledge of critical drips (vasopressors, sedation) titration knowledge Description: The ICU nurse will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of patient acuity. The nurse will utilize advanced assessment skills and interpret EKGs. Knowledge of medication titration and administration for critical care patients is essential. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations are necessary for success in this role. This position requires a team-oriented individual who can work effectively with others. Common diagnoses treated may include COPD, ARF, DKA, Sepsis, and Shock. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and documentation. Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and families is critical. The ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a busy setting is important. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and staff. This role may involve floating to other units as needed based on patient care demands. An associate degree in nursing is required, with a BSN preferred. Dress code includes scrubs, with no specific color assigned. Artificial nails are not acceptable attire.
