Job Description

The Opportunity:

As a Shuttle Driver, you will play an important role in safely transporting Mattel employees, visitors, executives, and guests between buildings across the El Segundo campus. This includes scheduled campus shuttle routes, executive transportation to and from local airports, and transportation support for special events.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, customer-service oriented, professional, dependable, and comfortable representing Mattel in a highly visible role. Employee safety, service, and reliability are the top priorities for this position.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Primary Responsibility: Shuttle & Driving Operations

• Safely operate Mattel shuttle vehicles between campus buildings, including Mattel Tower, HTC, MCLC, Studios, and other El Segundo campus locations.
• Provide professional, courteous, and reliable transportation for employees, visitors, executives, and approved guests.
• Operate shuttle routes according to established schedules while maintaining safe driving practices and adjusting appropriately for traffic, weather, construction, pedestrian activity, and campus conditions.
• Provide executive transportation to and from local airports and other approved business destinations as assigned.
• Support special events, executive visits, Toy Fair activities, employee events, and other business needs requiring transportation support.
• Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report safety, mechanical, maintenance, or cleanliness concerns.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and safe shuttle environment for all passengers.
• Assist passengers with safe boarding and exiting of vehicles, including luggage or small items when appropriate.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, DOT/FMCSA requirements, Mattel policies, and Global Security procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, including mileage logs, inspection forms, route documentation, incident reports, and other transportation-related documentation.
• Communicate professionally with employees, visitors, executives, Global Security, Facilities, GSOC, and other campus partners.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, suspicious activity, medical concerns, vehicle issues, or service disruptions immediately through the appropriate channels.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when transporting executives, guests, or employees.
• Support parking lot, pedestrian, and traffic safety needs as directed during peak campus activity or special events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
• Maintain flexibility to support changing routes, schedules, and operational needs.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid California Commercial Class B Driver's License required.
• Valid Passenger Endorsement required.
• Air brake endorsement preferred or required, depending on assigned vehicle type.
• Must maintain all required commercial driver qualifications, medical certification, and licensing requirements.
• Minimum of two years of professional driving experience preferred, ideally in shuttle, bus, passenger transportation, executive transportation, or corporate campus transportation.
• Clean and acceptable driving record required, subject to company review.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, executives, visitors, and guests.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and safety-focused during traffic delays, emergencies, schedule changes, or stressful situations.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to communicate through phone, radio, Microsoft Teams, or shuttle tracking/dispatch systems.
• Ability to read and follow route instructions, maps, traffic signage, and written procedures.
• Ability to complete vehicle inspection forms, logs, reports, and other required documentation accurately.
• Ability to work independently while partnering closely with Global Security, Facilities, GSOC, and campus operations teams.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain assigned routes and schedules.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist with loading or unloading small items or luggage when needed.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when required.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing Mattel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating employee shuttle routes or corporate campus transportation programs.
• Experience providing executive or airport transportation.
• Familiarity with El Segundo, LAX, and surrounding Los Angeles-area routes.
• Experience operating electric shuttle vehicles or similar commercial passenger vehicles.
• Defensive driving, Smith System, or similar professional driver safety training.
• First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

The pay range for this position is between $22 and $27 per hour. The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
