Accountant/Bookkeeper

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting functions and ensure accurate and timely financial records. The ideal candidate must have strong QuickBooks experience, excellant organizational skills, hands-on experience with IFTA filing, AP, AR, sales and excise tax filing, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities inlcude but are not limited to:

• Maintain accurate and up to date financial records in QuickBooks
• Process and manage payroll including payroll taxes, deductions, and reporting
• Manage Accounts Payable including tracking invoices and vendor payments
• Manage Accounts Receivable including creating accurate invoices, tracking payments, collections and bank deposits
• Filing Sales and Excise taxes
• Prepare and file IFTA reports with accuracy
• Reconciliation of bank and credit accounts
• Assist with financial audits and year-end tax preparation
• Communicate with vendors, customers, financial institutions and tax agencies as needed
• Maintain accurate filing systems
• Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality

Job Requirements

This position is best suited for an experienced, reliable, organized bookkeeping/accounting professional who can take ownership of the company's day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities. This person should be comfortable working independently in a sometimes fast-paced environment, catching discrepencies, meeting deadlines, maintaining accurate financial records with confidentiality. Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal guidance is needed. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience. Pay DOE.
