About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Profession: Physical Therapist Assistant Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 1+ years of PTA experience, LTC or Rehab Experience License: Active PTA license required Certifications: Level II experience for new grads Must-Have: Active PTA license Resume Skills checklist within 1 year 0-1 reference at time of submission Description: Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions. Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist. Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices. Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly. Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to supervising Physical Therapist. Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders. Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides input to supervisor for discharge summary of services provided. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system. Maintains patient records according to company policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided. Participates in required meetings including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings. Participates in facility and company required training and in-services. Works with supervising Physical Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies. Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist. Adheres to required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Active state licensure when applicable is required.
