SALARY INFORMATION:
Placement is based on a maximum of 10years of experience, verified full time teaching (not substitute) experience and education. $55,000.00- $83,751.00(PhD) See salary schedule here , Salary will be prorated based onnumber of days worked. This is a temporaryposition, non renewed at the end of 2026/27 school year. Position supports Soda Creek Elementary and Steamboat Springs Middle School. Candidates must have a Colorado substitute teaching certificate or Colorado teaching license.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in each school's student concern teams to support determination of appropriate behavioral health interventions for students. Supports school personnel understanding of student-family-school-community relations which affect a student's school performance. Serves as a school district representative on community-wide teams and coalitions related to youth behavioral health. Serves as a resource to special education staff including attending student staffings when appropriate. Participates on MTSS, Threat Assessment and Crisis Teams 2. Education Coordinates school personnel training in substance abuse, Restorative Practices, suicide prevention and behavioral health topics. Develops and presents and/or coordinates appropriate parent education workshops within schools related to behavioral health and substance abuse prevention. Collaborates with school personnel to develop additions to the curriculum in the areas of substance abuse prevention and behavioral/mental health including school wide substance abuse prevention campaigns, restorative practice implementation and family systems work. 3. Direct Student and Family services. Provides and/or coordinates clinically appropriate behavioral health interventions to individual students, groups of students, and families regarding behavioral health concerns. Advocates for students with parents, teachers, school administrators, and other agencies Serves as a resource regarding academic, social and emotional needs of the children including crisis intervention. Serve as a liaison between families and the school for students with identified behavioral health interventions Participates in student mental health screenings, substance abuse screenings, and threat assessments Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 service as referred through the district referral system. 4. Case Management of Interagency Involvement Refers students and families to appropriate community service providing agencies and supports families in securing these services. Coordinates multi-agency services provided to students and their families, particularly as the needs and services impact the educational adjustment of students Serves as liaison between schools and community agencies in finding community resources to support positive mental health and socialization skills. Serve as liaison between school and community agencies in respect to reporting child abuse/neglect Becomes familiar with the School Health Professionals Grant requirements and approved scope of work and coordinates with Principals and the District Behavioral Health Coordinator on adjusting job duties as needed to maintain grant compliance Ensures adherence to the grant goals, budget, and reporting requirements. Coordinates with the Behavioral Health Coordinator, Finance Director and Grants Coordinator on budget, scope of work, and grant reporting. Attends required grant trainings and meetings This postion is a grant funded position for 3 years. This does have additional grant reporting requirements that candiates will need to provide. 6. Position is grant funded for 3year with the goal of sustainability with the district Behavioral health vision.QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Social Work, School Counseling or School Psychologyfrom accredited institution of higher education or enrolled in a program to achieve accreditation in the area of Social Work/School Counseling/School Psychology. Valid Colorado Special Service provider school social worker, school counselor, or school psychology license. OR current DORA license and credentials and licensing equivalent as approved by CDE and the SHP Grant. Previous school counselor or school social worker experience preferred Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with administrators, teachers, students and families, and community members. Bilingual language skills preferred. Ability to conduct studies, prepare reports and make oral presentations. Computer knowledge required in computer-related subjects, and computer literacy preferred for other content areas. Ability to maintain individual student records and class files. Ability to compile statistics for research and reports. Ability to discipline students in keeping with school and district procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality.BENEFITS SUMMARY:
