Utility WorkerPay: $22.50 per hourOn-Call Required We are seeking a Utility Worker to support operations within the Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and Street Maintenance departments. This role performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and construction tasks to help maintain safe and reliable public infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in public works, utilities, or construction-related work and be comfortable operating equipment and performing outdoor labor in various weather conditions.ResponsibilitiesAssist with operation, repair, and maintenance of streets, water distribution, and wastewater collection systemsInspect and maintain water lines, sewer systems, storm drains, lift stations, and catch basinsInstall, repair, and read water metersPerform water shut-offs and turn-onsInstall and repair water lines, valves, pumps, standpipes, manholes, and cleanoutsPerform street maintenance including paving, patching, concrete repair, and sign maintenanceAssist with snow removal and sanding operationsOperate and maintain light and heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, sewer cleaners, and weldersPerform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment and toolsRespond to customer service requests and public concernsUse utility locator services prior to excavationReport hazards such as potholes, water leaks, or fallen signsMaintain accurate records and reports of work performedFollow all safety procedures and department policiesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseSome experience in water distribution, sewer collections, street maintenance, construction, or public worksAbility to operate or learn to operate construction and utility equipmentAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditionsAbility to lift, carry, and perform physical laborAbility to respond to after-hours emergencies when on callAdditional InformationOn-call rotation required for emergency responseWork may include weekends, nights, or emergency call-outsWork performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
