Senior Configuration Manager
WOOD Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Configuration Manager for a planned future staffing need. The Configuration Manager will ensure the integrity, traceability, and control of technical baselines, system models, documentation, and related engineering artifacts throughout the system lifecycle. The position will work closely with systems engineers, architects, and program leadership to manage configuration control activities associated with engineering products developed using MBSE methodologies and Cameo modeling tools. This role requires a senior-level professional with extensive experience in systems engineering environments and a deep understanding of configuration management principles, engineering documentation control, and lifecycle baseline management.
Responsibilities include establishing, implementing, and maintaining the program's Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and supporting CM procedures in accordance with contract and organizational requirements. The Configuration Manager will manage and maintain configuration baselines for system architecture, models, documentation, and related engineering artifacts. They will support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments by maintaining configuration control of models and associated artifacts developed using Cameo or related modeling tools. The role involves coordinating and facilitating Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities, reviewing and processing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), maintaining configuration status accounting, ensuring traceability between system requirements, architecture models, documentation, and engineering artifacts, maintaining document control procedures, conducting configuration audits, ensuring CM processes support program lifecycle activities, collaborating with systems engineering, architecture, and program management teams, and supporting preparation for internal and external program reviews and audits related to configuration management.
Required Education & Experience includes a High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of twenty (20) years of general systems engineering experience, or a Master's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of eighteen (18) years of general systems engineering experience.
Required Qualifications include demonstrated experience supporting configuration management within systems engineering environments, experience managing engineering baselines, configuration control processes, and technical documentation, experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and engineering change management processes, familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and practices, strong understanding of engineering lifecycle processes and configuration control principles, experience maintaining configuration records and ensuring traceability across engineering artifacts, ability to work collaboratively with systems engineers, architects, and program leadership, and strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications include experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community programs, familiarity with configuration management standards such as EIA-649 or MIL-STD configuration management practices, experience with engineering repositories, requirements management tools, or model repositories used in MBSE environments, experience supporting architecture frameworks or enterprise modeling environments, and familiarity with CMPRO.
