DevOps Engineer

Job TitleResponsibilities:Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge regarding the capabilities of client products and servicesImprove standard operating procedures to facilitate handling of routine and preventative maintenance associated with our operational environmentBuild and administer a wide range of technical infrastructure within client’s datacenter and the cloudWork closely with client’s Release Engineering team to smoothly deploy new releases of software into our operational environmentEngage with client partner teams to ensure and maintain smooth integrations, including verification that campaign launches are successfulCreate new tools to facilitate automated monitoring of client’s operational environmentAdminister and tune client’s modern big data infrastructure as well as database driven data warehousesCollaborate with client’s Managed Services Provider (MSP) to resolve trouble tickets associated with our operational environmentEscalate to Operations Support and other Engineering teams for any production issues and service enhancementsManage multiple troubleshooting projects simultaneously, appropriately prioritizing the required work effortParticipate in on-call rotationSkills Required:Mastery of Systems (Linux) and Networking administrationStrong systems engineering and troubleshooting skillsSAN/NAS Management (iSCSI, NFS, Nimble, NetApp, Brocade, Fiber Channel)Shell scripting (BASH/Perl)Strong TCP/IP understanding and ability to produce detailed documentationAbility to administer firewalls, routers, and switchesVMware, NginX, HAProxy, Apache managementJAVA Application ManagementUnderstand configuration and management of JBOSS and TomcatDatabase fundamentalsAdminister MySQL and other opensource databasesWrite and perform basic queries to evaluate database stability, integrity and performanceBig Data ManagementAdminister and build Cloudera Hadoop infrastructuresMonitoring SystemsSystem Level (Nagios, Zabbix, Check_MK)Log/Application Level (Splunk, Elastic Search)Ability to diagnose infrastructure as a whole!Preffered Skills:JAVA programming experienceAWS expertise (IAM, VPC, RDS, Route53 integration)
