Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a difference as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) specialist, providing virtual consult services to a small, focused caseload of students for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are passionate about supporting student inclusion and movement, this contract opportunity leverages your expertise in adaptive PE while offering the flexibility of remote work.
This virtual consultative assignment begins August 6, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, serving a maximum of two hours per week. This role is ideal for professionals seeking part-time commitments and meaningful interactions with a manageable caseload of 2 or 3 students at the high school and elementary levels.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid credential or certification as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
- Experience designing and implementing adaptive PE programs for students with diverse needs
- Proficiency in virtual service delivery platforms and tools
- Strong collaboration and consultative skills to work with school staff, families, and other service providers
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop individualized adaptive physical education plans
- Provide virtual consultation, support, and resources for staff at both the high school and elementary sites
- Guide instructional adaptations, modifications, and equipment recommendations as needed
- Monitor progress and complete ongoing student documentation
- Collaborate regularly with school teams to support student success
