Tool Control SpecialistEssential Duties ResponsibilitiesIssue, receive, and track tools, equipment, and supplies used by production and maintenance personnelMaintain accurate records of tool issuance, returns, and inventory levels using manual or electronic systemsInspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, or defects; remove unsafe tools from serviceClean, organize, label, and store tools in designated locations to maintain an orderly tool cribEnsure tools and equipment are readily available to support efficient production and maintenance operationsCoordinate tool repair, calibration, replacement, or replenishment as neededMonitor inventory levels and notify supervision of shortages, damaged tools, or ordering needsEnforce tool control, accountability, and sign-out proceduresListens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction, and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machineMaintain a clean, safe, and organized tool crib area in compliance with safety standardsAssist employees in identifying correct tools and equipment for tasksFollow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirementsSupport continuous improvement, cost control, and loss prevention effortsPerform other tasks as assigned by managementAdhere to all rules and regulations, at all timesMeet or exceed company safety standardsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesBe able to read, write, and speak EnglishWorking knowledge of basic mechanical systems, hand tools, and power toolsMinimum of 1–2 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, industrial, or related environmentRepair work experienceBasic computer skills for maintenance documentation and inventory trackingExcellent customer service and negotiation skillsDemonstrated commitment to workplace safety and equipment careAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
