CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

About this position Job Id : CLI-45618-6 Job Type : Direct hire End Client : Mersen Shift Timing : 2:00pm – 10:00pm Reports To : Production Supervisor General Description : Fully participate in and support the MERSEN Quality System. Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of large CNC machines. Perform machining operations involving close tolerances and finish specifications. Duties and Responsibilities Follow prescribed operational sequences. Operate machines to produce pilot pieces for inspection, check setups, and make adjustments to correct variances. Work from part drawings, specifications, setup instructions, and operating instructions. Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and devices to set up, operate, and inspect work. Be responsible for final inspection under general supervision. Continually improve and monitor quality through product delivery, conformance, and performance. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) One to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CNC Machinist Requirements Mastercam/CAD/CAM knowledge. Willing to work as part of a team. Ability to follow work instructions. Knowledge and experience in 3‑axis and 5‑axis CNC machining. Ability to collect data from blueprints, plans, work orders, and other sources to complete inspection sheets. ISO 9001 knowledge preferred. Enter instructions into CNC equipment based on programmer specifications. Set up CNC equipment with the correct attachments and tooling to perform required jobs. Operate and monitor multiple CNC machines simultaneously. Troubleshoot machine programming issues. Follow all safety procedures and regulations. Collaborate with engineers, management, and other team members. Inspect and maintain equipment, including performing PMP duties. CMM familiarity or knowledge. Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, and gage pins. Familiarity with different types of tooling, including end mills, bullnose cutters, ballnose cutters, chamfer mills, drills, and related tooling. Strong attention to detail and good listening skills. Understanding of the decimal system. Ability to work night shift positions.
