Manager, Project Procurement

Job Summary A Manager, Capital Projects Procurement covers a portfolio of $17.7bn across Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Renewables, and Nuclear. The role will lead commercial strategy, sourcing, and procurement for project‑specific material procurements within Power Delivery. The Manager will oversee a team of 4–7 procurement professionals and report to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement. Job Duties / Responsibilities Safety/Human Performance: Ensure the team prioritizes safety, promotes strong safety behaviors, and monitors suppliers for safety concerns. Supplier Commercial Excellence: Develop and execute commercial strategies that generate favorable outcomes for stakeholders and align with business objectives. Partnership: Build and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships, create cross‑functional teams, and develop multi‑year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions. Culture: Operate with highest ethical standards and compliance with internal controls, policies, regulations, and laws; drive Supplier Diversity & Local Spend objectives. People Leadership: Manage talent through recruitment, development, and retention; mentor and coach staff; ensure alignment with key business priorities. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, supply chain management, engineering, finance, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred. Professional Supply Chain/Procurement certification preferred. Experience: 5 years in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management; 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience. Related energy supply chain experience preferred. Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 7‑10 years of contracting or material procurement experience (EPC, service, material, engineered equipment). Strong business acumen, strategic agility, and category management knowledge. Understanding of capital project management stage‑gate processes. Strategic and analytical thinking, focusing on service delivery. Process optimization and continuous improvement experience. Strong collaboration, relationship management, communication, facilitation, presentation, and creative problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of utility industry, regulated organizations, renewable energy, and nuclear generation requirements. Preferred Office Location Hammond, Louisiana (primary); possible domicile in New Orleans, Louisiana with regular travel to Hammond.
