Director of Family Ministries April 13, 2026 First United Methodist Church of Gonzales in Gonzales, Louisiana is seeking a Director of Family Ministries (DFM). This is a part-time position with a starting salary dependent on experience/qualifications. The primary responsibilities involve development and implementation of programs to support the church’s youth, children, and families. The Director of Family Ministries supports the mission of First United Methodist Church of Gonzales — Transforming Lives to Love Like Jesus — by playing a pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual growth of families within our United Methodist congregation. This role plays a vital part in the church’s vision of being a place where all people are invited to know Jesus Christ, inspired to grow as His disciples, and encouraged to live out their faith by serving those in need. This position more specifically focuses on creating a vibrant and holistic ministry that spans across generations, emphasizing both youth and children. The DFM will work closely with parents, children, and young adults to foster lifelong faith formation. A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is highly preferred. An Associate’s Degree in a related field with experience, or significant experience in a related field alone may be substituted for the Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree. Experience in teaching or children’s education and experience working in a church setting, especially within a United Methodist context, is highly desired.
