Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist

• Perform computed tomography scanning with technical precision
• Operate control console and peripheral hardware for patient scans
• Select proper imaging techniques for precise diagnostics
• Position patients and adjust devices to ensure optimal imaging
• Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and cooperation
• Assist in the monitoring and treatment of patients during procedures
• Apply radiographic protection principles to minimize radiation exposure
• Evaluate images for technical quality and maintain radiology records
• Comply with infection control and departmental policies
• Participate in professional development and comply with licensure requirements

Requirements of the CT Technologist

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• High school graduate or GED
• Graduate of an AMA Accredited Radiography Program
• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Valid Massachusetts State License in Radiation Control
• Certification from an accredited CT program or current CT registration by ARRT
• 3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist or 1 year current CT Tech experience
• Current BLS certification
