Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development. Lead daily classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring a dynamic learning environment for toddlers and preschoolers. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management strategies to foster respect and cooperation among children. Collaborate with team members to design lesson plans that incorporate Montessori methods, special education strategies, and early intervention techniques. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development. Oversee classroom management duties including maintaining safety standards, organizing materials, and ensuring compliance with childcare regulations. Support the professional growth of assistant teachers through mentorship in classroom management, lesson planning, and early childhood education best practices. Requirements DCF 45 hours, CDA, Early Childhood Education Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting; prior classroom experience is essential. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education strategies. Certification in early childhood education or related fields; Montessori certification is a plus. Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members. Ability to lead classroom activities confidently while maintaining a nurturing environment for diverse learners. Commitment to child welfare standards and maintaining a safe, inclusive space for all children.
