Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated  Supervising Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy operations while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who is eager to learn, develop leadership skills, and work closely with a collaborative healthcare team. Experience with  PrimeRx (Micro Merchant Systems)is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy and ensure compliance with all New York State and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Verify and dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional patient counselling on prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and disease management.
• Administer immunizations in accordance with New York State guidelines.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff while fostering a positive team culture.
• Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles.
• Ensure inventory is managed effectively, including ordering, receiving, and monitoring controlled substances.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and the on-site clinic to optimize patient outcomes.
• Resolve patient concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Maintain quality assurance standards and ensure all pharmacy policies and procedures are followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and patient experience.
• Promote a positive team environment by managing pharmacy staff schedules, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans for diverse patient populations including pediatrics and acute care cases.

QualificationsRequired

• Active  New York Pharmacist License (mandatory)
• Immunization Certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Preferred

• Experience using  PrimeRx (Micro Merchant Systems)
• Previous retail pharmacy experience
• Supervisory or leadership experience (preferred but not required)
• Newly licensed pharmacists are encouraged to apply

Experience

• Proven experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist in various settings such as hospital or community pharmacy environments.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing pharmacy teams in fast-paced environments with a focus on patient service excellence.
• Critical care or acute care experience is highly desirable
• Strong background in clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy management, drug regulation knowledge (FDA/DEA), and medical terminology
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, inventory management tools, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards.
• Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and mmunizations certifications are required.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining high standards of confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
