Construction Laborer

Responsible for performing tasks involving physical labor on jobsites while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project. Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures. Complete all required Safety documentation. Perform a variety of functions such as dig, spread and level dirt and gravel with a pick or shovel. Lift, carry and hold building materials, tools and supplies. Clean tools, equipment, materials and work areas. Mix, pour and place concrete, gravel and other materials using hand tools. Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe. Perform a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with caulking and rebar placement. General cleanup, demolition, use of cutting torch, jackhammers and placing culvert or pipe sections in trench. Spend time on one job or may be transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion. May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice. Provide assistance on the site as needed. Perform care and maintenance of assigned tools. Perform physical labor on construction sites. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience Requirements: Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately. Learn to read and understand plans and specifications. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions. Experience working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper, and a basic knowledge of working in Solar Photovoltaic construction craft. Developing knowledge of the assembly, installation, or maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Ability to understand and follow directions. Must be at least 18 years of age. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Determine materials, equipment, and installation sequences necessary to maximize installation efficiency. Evaluate work and safely utilize appropriate hand tools (i.e. crescent wrench, pliers, hammer, screwdriver, etc.) and power tools (i.e. Drills, Impact Wrenches) for the work being performed. Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately. Listen to co-workers suggestions, safety concerns, and recommendations giving full attention to what they are saying and take the time to understand the points being made, asking questions and providing feedback when appropriate.

Working Environment: Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and extreme heat. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
