Summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) develops, implements, and evaluates behavioral treatment plans and provides behavioral therapy and other therapeutic services to program participants.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

• Collaborates with supervisors and the interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation, maintenance, and generalization of behavioral change programs.
• Applies least restrictive treatment guidelines when implementing behavioral techniques and interventions.
• Directs and supports program participant contact to promote behavioral change, primarily in the areas of activities of daily living, behavior management, communication, and social skills.
• Provides behavioral therapy and active treatment programming in residential, job-site, and community settings on an individual or group basis.
• Submits weekly documentation indicating treatment objectives, strategies implemented, and outcomes achieved.
• Consults with staff, insurance providers, legal representatives, service providers, and family members regarding treatment recommendations, participant progress, and discharge planning.
• Participates in family education and therapy as appropriate.
• Participates in treatment planning with the interdisciplinary team and attends pre-admission meetings as requested.
• Serves as an active member of the rehabilitation and treatment team.
• Ensures evaluations, progress reports, and discharge summaries are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
• Completes daily billing documentation and summaries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensures compliance with applicable accreditation standards, organizational policies, professional ethics, and confidentiality requirements.
• Assists with the coordination and implementation of behavioral programming across residential, community, vocational, and other service settings as necessary.
• Provides ongoing support, training, and consultation to assigned team members regarding behavioral principles, techniques, and interventions.
• Provides training, oversight, and guidance to BIT interns, practicum students, and other assigned trainees, as applicable.
• Participates in behavioral research projects and quality improvement initiatives, as appropriate.
• Participates in the Crisis Intervention System and provides on-call support as required.
• Performs other related duties and activities as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Education and Experience

• Master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, education, or a related field required.
• Minimum of five years of experience working with individuals with special needs or other populations requiring behavioral support and intervention.
• Experience providing behavior analysis services in an applied setting preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
• Applicable state licensure or certification required, as applicable to the position and service location.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles, behavioral assessment, treatment planning, and intervention strategies.
• Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and modify individualized behavioral treatment plans.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, families, and other service providers.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Other Requirements

• Travel as required to support program participants and services.
• Ability to work in residential, community, vocational, and other service settings as needed.
• Participation in on-call and crisis intervention responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than those required for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as light work.
