Staff High Voltage Electrical Engineer, EPC San Francisco, CA / Nevada options available The energy transition is not just about generating more power It is about building the electrical infrastructure that can support it. As battery manufacturing, recycling, AI, data centres, domestic manufacturing, EVs and renewable energy continue to scale across the US, the demand on the grid is increasing rapidly. Behind every major industrial project sits a critical need for reliable high voltage infrastructure. That is where this role comes in. We are supporting a major US battery materials and energy infrastructure business that is building the backbone for large-scale battery recycling, battery materials production and energy storage. They are looking for a Staff High Voltage Electrical Engineer to lead the design of high voltage electrical systems across major EPC infrastructure projects. This is a senior technical role focused on 69kV to 345kV substations, transmission integration, grid studies, relay protection, grounding, equipment selection and interconnection. You will own high voltage design packages from concept through commissioning, working closely with utilities, ISO/RTOs, internal engineering teams, consultants, construction teams and commissioning teams. This role would suit someone who wants to be more than just a design engineer. You will be a technical lead, Electrical Engineer of Record and key decision maker on projects that directly support grid reliability, energy storage and the future of US manufacturing. What you will be doing: Leading high voltage AC electrical design for industrial substations from 69kV to 345kV Developing single-line diagrams, physical layouts, grounding plans, protection and control systems Performing load flow, short circuit, arc flash and stability studies Supporting utility and ISO/RTO interconnection studies, permitting and compliance Developing relay settings and supporting relay coordination Reviewing existing substation designs and improving reliability and stability Selecting HV equipment including transformers, switchgear, breakers, CTs, PTs and protection relays Supporting construction, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting Acting as Electrical Engineer of Record on assigned projects Mentoring junior engineers and helping build internal design standards What we are looking for: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer, or eligible for reciprocity Ability to obtain PE in Nevada and South Carolina shortly after starting 10+ years of high voltage electrical design experience Strong substation, transmission, utility, EPC, renewable, BESS or heavy industrial background Experience with 69kV to 345kV systems Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NESC and NFPA standards Experience with tools such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM or similar SEL AcSELerator or relay settings experience would be highly beneficial Field experience across construction and commissioning of high voltage systems would be advantageous #J-18808-Ljbffr Novax Recruitment Group
