About the Position

Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:30 - 19:00) Experience: 2 years preferred License: State license preferred Certifications: NBSTSA, BLS Must-Have: - Required certification from NBSTSA - 2 years of experience preferred in specific areas such as Neuro, ENT, and Robotics - Ability to float between like units as needed Description: The position requires working three 12-hour shifts during the day. There is a holiday rotation included in the schedule. Weekend coverage requires up to one weekend shift per four-week scheduling period. On-call shifts may be required up to four shifts within a four-week schedule. The traveler will be expected to support the full range of surgical cases provided by the OR. Common surgical cases include Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Robotics, Transplants, Trauma, and GU/GYN procedures. The department is described as a busy and dynamic environment. The team includes a mix of registered nurses and certified surgical technologists. Advanced medical technology is utilized in the surgical setting. The facility is categorized as a Level 1 trauma center and includes a teaching aspect. Travelers should be aware that they may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season. Safe working practices must be maintained, and a radiation badge is required. All required certifications must be valid and up to date. Travelers must be prepared for a variety of surgical specialties. The facility may allow adjustments to scheduling as needed upon management approval. Compliance with all operational requirements is imperative.
