Location: Stamford, CT
Pay: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, plus commission

One of New England’s largest mechanical construction wholesalers is seeking an experienced Counter Sales / Account Manager for its Stamford, Connecticut location. This position combines hands-on counter sales with customer relationship management and account growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist plumbing contractors, technicians, and other customers at the sales counter
• Identify and recommend plumbing equipment, parts, materials, and supplies
• Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and deliveries
• Prepare quotes, enter orders, process sales, and follow up on open orders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customer accounts
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and strengthen customer loyalty
• Develop relationships with new contractors and prospective customers
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and delivery teams to fulfill orders
• Resolve order issues and customer concerns promptly and professionally
• Maintain accurate customer, quote, order, and account information
• Stay informed about products, inventory, promotions, and industry developments

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing supply, wholesale distribution, counter sales, account management, or a related trade
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing equipment, parts, materials, and supplies
• Ability to identify products and recommend appropriate solutions
• Excellent customer-service, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple customers and priorities in a busy sales environment
• Comfortable using computers to prepare quotes, enter orders, and manage accounts
• Sales, business-development, or account-management experience is a plus
• Dependable, professional, and motivated to contribute to sales growth
