Banquet Houseperson

The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for setting up and cleaning up of all banquet functions. You will be an integral part of the team by excelling in consistently providing meeting products to the property's clients, focusing on proper meeting set-ups, break downs, and configurations.

Salary $16.90/hour

Responsibilities

With a keen eye for detail, review the Event Order and assignment sheet to determine function requirements. With a warm and genuine demeanor set, stock, and maintain meeting rooms ensuring the event for our groups exceeds their expectations. Meticulously complete cleaning inspection for each meeting room and assigned area. Ensure quality communication by reporting any and all guest request changes to an F&B Manager. Jump in and assist other departments as needed to ensure optimum service to guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• A warm personality, attentive, and presentable.
• Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
• Responds courteously and efficiently to queries and problems from guests, and all staff.
• Set up tables and chairs to meet the function specifications.
• Properly clean meeting space at beginning, during, and end of events, including not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping, scrubbing.

Supportive functions: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following other duties, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Completes assigned side work to include cleaning meeting space and storage space, that adhere to standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
• Abides by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Attends all mandatory meetings.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Prerequisites:

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and an enthusiastic team player who displays good human relations' skills.
• Must be flexible in working hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of Meeting Room Set up, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Must possess strong organizational skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism.
