ER RN PositionUnit Notes ****AFFILIATE MUST ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT CREATED/REGISTERED TO RUN THE MN NETSTUDY PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A CANDIDATE**** Department: ER RN Required Certification: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT Nurse:Patient Ratios: varies on acuity 1:3 is common Common diagnoses/Types of patients: We treat issues across the lifespan of Newborn to Geriatric. Resp/cardiac/trauma/stroke Experience or 'Must have' skills: Quick learning, independent, team player, strong practical skills. Not reliant on ancillary resources to function, at least 2yrs Critical Access ED experience preferred Trauma Level? STEMI Receiving? Stroke Center?: LEvel IV trauma and stroke ready designation # of Beds/Trauma Bays: 10 beds 2 trauma bays Do you have a Fast Track?: No Do you have a separate Triage area? If so, do you allow/require travelers to do Triage?: Yes we have a separate triage room and yes competent triage skills is required Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER?: no Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms?: yes, 1 locked seclusion room within the unit. Is Security in-house 24/7? Housed in the ER?: We do not have in house security the expectation is to be competent in de escalation skills and utilize local PD for emergencies On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day? 25-30 Common drips: nore epi, nitro,heparin, amiodarone, propofol ED Physician &/or Mid-Levels staffed? Generally how many are on at a time?: We are staffed with 1 provider in house 24/7. It may be MD, DO or PA Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift?: No Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: N/A Are there nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters on each shift? Ratios? Duties?: There is a CNA/Tech from 1400-2230. They will help prep for transport, VS,room turnover, stocking, EKGs,swabs and splinting if trained Is RT in the ER 24/7? Do they do ABGs, breathing Tx, & EKGs?: We have RT durring day time hours and on call at noc. When here they will do EKG,ABG and resp tx including vent/bi pap RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): all of the previous mentioned Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: They need to be able to initiate with the verbal assistance of RT on call if needed. Do you have Tele/Monitor Techs in the ER?: no Are RNs required to read their own strips?: yes What brand are the Tele monitors?: phillips X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport?: no, ED is responsible to assist with transport. All Stroke activations require RN to attend to CT Does Phlebotomy draw labs or RNs draw?: both Shifts & Scheduling Details: 12hr shifts 7-7 both nights and days. The schedule comes out in 6 week blocks Rotating days/nights, we allow for turn around time & we do not schedule a day shift then a night shift. Do you allow self-scheduling or Block scheduling?: no Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend Holiday Requirements: every other Is there call or a standby requirement?: no Call Response time: no Floating Requirements: none Scrub Color/Dress Code: none, must look professional How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: until competency achieved not more than 4. Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year RTO needed upfront - Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
