External Substitute Teacher's Assistant at SPIN

Come join us at SPIN as an External Substitute Teacher's Assistant in our Children's Programming in our Frankford Section. As an External Substitute you can pick and choose a shift to fit your lifestyle. Our hours of operations are Monday-Friday 7am-6pm.

The Accountabilities of an External Substitute Teacher Assistant Include:

• Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
• Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
• Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing)
• Help facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for preschoolers
• Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service
• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum and planning daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children
• Communicate with the Lead Teacher regarding all aspects of the children's care as well as classroom management
• Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times

The tools you need:

• H.S. Diploma/GED
• Child Development Associate or Early Childhood Education credits preferred but not necessary.
• Experience and dedication to be able to work with young children.
• Good organizational skills
• Clear, pleasant and courteous communicator, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently as well as be an effective multi-disciplinary team member

Expectations of an External Substitute:

• Flexibility to work between the hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday thru Friday
• Flexibility to work at our Drummond Road Location
• Ability to work a minimum of 24 hours a month
