Position Description
This position is funded by a grant, which is anticipated to expire on December 31, 2026. At that time, the position will either be continued by a new grant, continued by conversion to a permanent position, or discontinued. Definition
To assist victims and witnesses of all crime categories; to assess needs, provide information, referrals, and services. To act as liaison with other law enforcement agencies; to make public presentations and provide education, training, and other information to Department members, other law enforcement agencies, and community groups; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility. This is a part-time position not subject to the competitive requirements of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Civil Service Rules.

- Personal Appearance: While on duty, and/or representing the Department, uniformed or otherwise, all Department employees will be neat and clean in their appearance in public. Employees are prohibited from attaching, affixing, or displaying objects, articles or jewelry on or through the nose, tongue, eyebrow or other exposed body part, except the ears for females, while on duty. Employees are prohibited from stretching or "gauging" their earlobes. All jewelry implants will not be exposed or visible while on duty. - Physical Conditions: Vision sufficient to read the computer screen, as well as fine print in documents. Hearing sufficient to hear conversations and directions in person and over the telephone. Dexterity and mobility sufficient to use standard office equipment, work in an office, drive a vehicle, and visit victims. Agility sufficient to bend, reach, and rotate neck and trunk. Endurance sufficient to sit or stand for long periods of time. Strength sufficient to lift and carry light items, such as stacks of files.
