Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Machinist Job Description

The CNC Machinist plays a critical role in setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components vital for hydraulic and power systems. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in blueprint reading, and the capability to ensure both quality and efficiency within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, or machining centers.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments at the machine.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure product quality and throughput.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot minor machining or tooling issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
• Document production activity and quality checks as required.

• 1–3+ years of CNC machining experience with lathes and mills (set-up experience preferred for higher-level roles).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, or similar CNC controls.
• Experience using standard inspection tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in a high-volume or precision manufacturing environment.
• Prior exposure to hydraulics or metal machining.

This role operates on the 2nd Shift from 3pm to 11:30pm, with a 7% premium over the base hourly rate. Training may occur during 1st Shift hours, from 7am to 3pm, depending on the candidate's schedule. Expect 5-10 hours of overtime, with Saturdays being a possibility based on the time of year.

This is a Permanent position based out of Freeport, IL.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
