Work Environment

This role will be conducted onsite at our school facility in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, ensuring a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The PNP will work alongside a diverse team of healthcare professionals, engaging in cross-disciplinary collaboration for the benefit of student mental health. The regular working hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured schedule conducive to both patient care and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to diagnose a wide range of mental health conditions in students and provide appropriate care plans.
• Administer medication management, monitoring treatment effectiveness and making adjustments as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with primary care providers, school staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care delivery for students.
• Provide crisis intervention during moments of emotional distress, delivering immediate support to students in need.
• Engage in community outreach and educational initiatives to raise awareness about mental health resources available at the clinic.
• Deliver therapeutic support through counseling services, utilizing psychoeducation techniques to empower patients’ understanding of their mental health.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PNP will primarily serve a diverse student population within local schools, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that impact academic performance and overall well-being. By fostering a supportive environment, the PNP will play a crucial role in breaking down barriers and stigma surrounding mental health in educational settings.

Qualifications

• Hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing with specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Possess state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a psychiatric specialization.
• Demonstrated ability in understanding the complexities of mental health issues, particularly in youth.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective interactions with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience working in a community health center or similar healthcare environment, focusing on mental health.
• Experience providing mental health services in educational settings is an asset, as it will enhance our community's adaptability and support.
• Familiarity with integrated behavioral health care models and trauma-informed care practices.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 200,000 to USD 250,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
