Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center the job listing Expires on July 13, 2026 The Trauma Therapist is a key member of a multidisciplinary team supporting children and families affected by abuse and trauma. This role integrates expertise in forensic interviewing, trauma-informed mental health care, and case review to provide comprehensive support and intervention. The position is co-located between the Putnam County Child Advocacy Center and The Women’s Resource Center, facilitating coordination of services. Key Responsibilities Conduct forensic interviews with children and adolescents suspected of abuse, or complete training to perform these interviews, in accordance with CAC protocols and best practices. Participate in multidisciplinary case review meetings, offering professional insights on child safety, mental health needs, and case planning. Collaborate with law enforcement, child protective services, medical providers, and legal partners to ensure accurate, trauma-informed documentation. Conduct trauma screenings and assessments to identify mental health needs and appropriate interventions. Evidence-Based Trauma Treatment Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Other licensed modalities as clinically indicated Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
