Role Description The Trusts & Estates Paralegal is a full-time in-office role based in Virginia Beach, VA. This role supports attorneys in the preparation estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other trust and estates matters, such as probate forms, scheduling qualification appointments, preparing inventories and accountings, and other related documents. Daily responsibilities include organizing and reviewing client information, managing case files, coordinating asset information, preparing estate plans, probate forms, and guardianship filings, and tracking deadlines. The paralegal communicates regularly with clients, courts, and financial institutions, schedules meetings, and prepares summaries and reports for attorney review. The role also involves legal research, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to efficient office workflows and client service. Qualifications Foundational knowledge of elder law, estate planning, and trusts & estates, with the ability to apply relevant law to client matters. Strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and organizing wills, trusts, probate, and guardianship filings. Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and third parties, both in writing and verbally. Research and document review skills to analyze legal issues, verify information, and ensure accuracy and completeness of files. High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency with legal practice management and document software. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and manage multiple matters with changing priorities and deadlines. Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in trusts & estates, elder law, or related fields preferred. Paralegal certificate or relevant associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
