Robotics Engineer

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading diagnostic laboratory services organization in the Lewisville, TX area, is seeking a Sr. Lab Robotics Automation Engineer to join their team! This is a 100% onsite opportunity focused on laboratory robotics, automation programming, workflow development, and advanced instrumentation. Sr. Lab Robotics Automation Engineer Job Summary Pay: Up to $113K annually + 5% bonus Location: Lewisville, TX Work Arrangement: 100% onsite Travel: Up to 5% Program and schedule laboratory automation systems and develop methods for advanced robotic instrumentation Work with laboratory robotics and automation platforms such as Tecan, Hamilton, and Agilent Design automated workflow protocols, create custom scripts, teach labware positions, and develop liquid classes Develop testing strategies and documentation for automated systems, including performance qualification and preventive maintenance Train laboratory staff on the proper operation and maintenance of robotic instrumentation Collaborate with development, bioinformatics, and laboratory teams to support LIMS integration with automated workflows Develop and conduct complex experiments, analyze results, document findings, and recommend improvements Troubleshoot robotic instrumentation and automation systems to minimize downtime Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and vendor service representatives on installation, maintenance, repair, and service Support the evaluation and validation of new equipment, assays, and automation technologies Coordinate the implementation of new tests, workflow modifications, and automation projects Serve as a technical resource for laboratory robotics and automation systems Manage multiple projects and assignments while ensuring goals and timelines are met Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements through documentation, audits, and corrective actions Sr. Lab Robotics Automation Engineer Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in a relevant technical/scientific discipline, with experience appropriate to the degree level 3–6+ years of experience with laboratory automation and robotics 4+ years of experience programming, developing, and testing robotic and automated instrumentation is preferred Experience with Hamilton, Tecan, Agilent, or similar laboratory automation platforms Experience with integrated robotic systems and scheduling software such as HighRes, Biosero, or custom solutions is preferred Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and/or C# Experience with laboratory automation workflow development and troubleshooting Research experience in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred Strong understanding of laboratory operations and automated instrumentation Strong computer and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with laboratory, technical, R&D, operations, quality, and vendor teams Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment while maintaining production and quality standards Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment and following required PPE, safety, and biohazard procedures Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Why Zing?
