Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a heavy‐capacity forklift to move, load, and position large or oversized materials within an industrial, warehouse, or yard environment. This role supports daily production and logistics by ensuring materials are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a heavy 10K-30K forklift to lift, transport, and stack heavy materials such as steel, lumber, equipment, or bulk products
• Perform pre‐shift inspections on the forklift, including hydraulics, brakes, tires, forks, and safety systems
• Maneuver the forklift in tight or congested areas while maintaining full awareness of surroundings
• Load and unload trucks, railcars, or storage areas according to weight limits and load‐handling procedures
• Follow all site‐specific safety rules, traffic patterns, and equipment guidelines
• Communicate clearly with spotters, supervisors, and ground personnel
• Maintain accurate documentation of material movements when required
• Report mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately
• Assist with general yard or warehouse duties as needed

Qualifications

• Experience operating large‐capacity forklifts or similar heavy‐duty equipment

• Strong understanding of load balance, weight distribution, and safe material‐handling practices

• Ability to read load tags, work orders, and inventory documents

• Solid situational awareness and commitment to safety

• Physical ability to climb, sit for extended periods, and work in outdoor or industrial environments
