Ophthalmic AssistantExpected pay for this position is $18.58-$26.02. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. MDH benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision 457B and employer match for FT employees company paid STD and LTD.Job Summary: The Ophthalmic Assistant supports ophthalmologists by performing clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality eye care. This role involves patient preparation, preliminary eye testing, assistance during examinations, and maintaining clinical equipment and records. Acting as facilitators, collecting data and performing procedures that help ophthalmologists make informed decisions.Job Specifications:High school diploma or GED. Experience in a medical office setting is preferred. One year working in a medical practice is preferred.Ophthalmology and/or optometry experience and medical terminology is preferred.Required to have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date.Must have knowledge of the following: current clinical practices commonly implemented by the Ophthalmologist; medical terminology; service organization and office policies and procedures; all technical equipment used; use of personal protective equipment in compliance with DCD and OSHA guidelines; rules and regulations concerning child abuse reporting and guardianship.
