Job Title: Class A CDL Driver

Job Description

The Class A CDL Driver safely transports products between facilities and to customer locations, while handling loading and unloading of materials independently or as part of a team. This role requires consistent physical activity, attention to safety, and reliable on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport products between company facilities and customer locations.
• Load and unload products from trailers, working independently or with a team as needed.
• Handle metal and other materials carefully to prevent damage to products, equipment, and property.
• Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies while on the road and at job sites.
• Inspect vehicles and trailers before and after trips, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.

Essential Skills

• Valid Class A CDL license.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Proven Class A CDL driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently.
• Ability to lift 100+ lbs with assistance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in metal recycling operations.
• Familiarity with handling and transporting metal materials.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a loading and unloading team.
• Strong communication skills with dispatch, yard personnel, and customers.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively to complete daily routes.

Work Environment

This role is primarily outdoors, and you will work in all weather conditions throughout the year. The position follows a first-shift schedule with flexible start times between approximately 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. You will work around metal recycling operations, including loading and unloading metal materials, and will spend time both driving and performing physical tasks in the yard and at customer locations. Appropriate work attire should be durable and suitable for outdoor, physical work in varying weather condition

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, NE.

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $58240.00/yr.
