Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2-3 Years OR Experience License: Michigan Nursing License Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - RTO must be presented at time of submission - Level 1 trauma center experience preferred - Ability to perform highly specialized cases like vascular, neuro, and robotics - Scrub experience in any OR specialty preferred - Work 1 weekend in every 4-week schedule (8-hour shifts) - Call as needed; response time is 30 minutes - Required to work holidays as needed Description: Looking for well-rounded team members for the Operating Room. Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred. Travelers should be able to perform highly specialized cases such as vascular, neuro, and robotics. Scrub experience in any OR specialty is preferred. This position requires working one weekend in every four-week schedule with 8-hour shifts. Call duties will be required as needed and response time must be within 30 minutes. Holidays will be required as needed, and there is no guarantee that holiday time-off requests will be accepted. Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in the operating room. The ideal candidate will hold a BLS (AHA) certification and a valid Michigan nursing license. Individuals with prior charge experience are preferred. The unit handles a variety of patient diagnoses and procedures, including but not limited to eyes, ENT, dental, maxillofacial, urology, GYN, robotic surgery, general surgery, pediatric surgery, trauma, plastics, breast, neuro, orthopedic spine, orthopedic, cardiac vascular, and thoracic surgeries. The daily census ranges from 80 to 100 cases across 21 operating rooms. Interdisciplinary support includes phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation. Specialized equipment utilized in the unit includes XI robots and endovascular suites. References must be at a supervisory level.
