Radiologic Technologist- Radiology Weekend Program

Overview The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic general radiological procedures utilizing various imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries. Qualifications Associate's Degree in a related field. Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology. Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (Illinois Emergency Management Agency [IEMA]). Registered in Radiography (R) within 1 year (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [ARRT]). Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (American Heart Association [AHA]). Specialized Knowledge and Skills : Positive attitude, willingness to assess and improve the work environment, ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Responsibilities Perform radiographic procedures, acquire and process patient exams in accordance with accrediting body and manufacturer guidelines, review cases with radiologists, and review labs and patient history for correct exam implementation. Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate, respond to adverse or allergic reactions, and administer contrast via existing IV line or by venipuncture. Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing when applicable. Verify the completeness and accuracy of radiology orders, and obtain additional information from patients, ordering providers, or radiologists when needed. Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment, and verify patient data for accuracy and completeness. Transfer and verify image data in PACS, provide necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation, and use web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours. Maintain imaging equipment and the workplace environment, manage supply inventories, and report malfunctions and service needs in a timely manner. Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, and report safety events immediately, including near‑miss incidents. Assist in instruction of students and new staff, and may perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence. Meet productivity levels established by department benchmarking and assist other areas during downtime to maintain productivity. Perform duties of other modalities within the department when cross‑trained, complying with other job descriptions and any required licensure or accreditation. Secondary registries are not required for cross‑trained modalities unless otherwise required by compliance, licensure, or accrediting bodies. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $28.94 per hour to $49.78 per hour. This represents a minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. Actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shift worked, and compensation model.
