Job Summary The cook position is responsible for cooking and mixing filling for production lines and ensuring the quality of the product. Responsible for overall set up and sanitation of industrial equipment/kettles, while maintaining and following safety and food safety regulations. Essential Job Functions Set up and operate industrial kettle and equipment in a safe and proper manner. Prepare large batches of pie fillings by following the recipe and using industrial kettles. Review formulas and follow batch sheet recipes. Receive, count, verify and record lot number and quantities. Use a forklift or pallet jack to pull ingredients needed to make the filling. Perform sanitation duties for the assigned equipment in the cook room. Train and direct the work of the cooks' helpers. Check filling temperatures throughout the cooking and cooling down process. Work closely with the QA personnel, warehouse personnel, supervisors and manager. Complete the required production paperwork and systematically report all material used. Immediately report equipment needing repair to reduce and prevent injuries and downtime. Monitor safety and GMPs of staff. Food Safety Responsibilities All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor. Monitor and enforce cGMPs. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre‑requisite programs. Education, Skills & Other Requirements Ability to understand written and verbal direction in English and/or Spanish. Proven experience working with industrial cooking equipment, specifically kettles. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must be able to work in a loud environment with appropriate hearing protection. Forklift certified (sit‑down). Physical Requirements Stand/walk for 8+ hours. Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Frequently push/pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to walk through production areas. Adaptability to multi‑shift environment. Exposure to temperature change. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. Hearing ability with appropriate protection in high‑noise areas. Wearing proper footwear. Supervisor Production Supervisor Schedule Must be able to work any shift.
