This role plays a critical part in infection prevention and overall patient experience, with a focus on floor care and specialized cleaning processes across the hospital. Job Summary Performs advanced environmental services duties with a focus on floor care to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Supports infection prevention practices and contributes to a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain patient, clinical, and non-clinical areas of the hospital Perform floor care duties, including stripping/refinishing floors, carpet shampooing, and upholstery cleaning Disinfect precaution rooms according to infection control protocols Remove trash, soiled linen, bulk waste, and infectious waste to appropriate locations Maintain equipment, carts, and supply areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition Stock supplies such as paper products and soap throughout assigned areas Respond promptly to assigned tasks and communication during shift Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns Follow all safety, infection control, and departmental policies Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred At least 1 year of environmental services or housekeeping experience preferred Required Skills Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively Customer service-oriented mindset Ability to work independently and as part of a team Working Conditions Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting Possible exposure to infectious materials; PPE required Must follow all safety requirements, including use of protective equipment Why ChristianaCare ChristianaCare is committed to providing excellent care and creating a supportive environment for our caregivers. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.74 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.74 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
