Level 3 RN Endoscopy/GI

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM; on-call required for overnights and weekends.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Level 3 RN in Endoscopy/GI is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the endoscopy unit. Duties include:

• Answering patient questions and addressing their concerns.
• Observing patient vital signs.
• Sedating patients before procedures.
• Recovering patients after procedures.
• Administering necessary medication to patients.
• Completing all necessary documentation including patient notes and discharge documents.
• Preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Cleaning and sterilizing equipment before use.
• Providing assistance to Doctors throughout procedures.
• Administering IV drips.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid New York State RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
• ACLS Certification (AHA ONLY).
• 2 years of previous endoscopy procedure experience.
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm identification experience.
• Expertise in conscious sedation.
• Expert IV insertion skills.
• Experience in recovering patients from general anesthesia.
• Experience in performing intake for GI procedures.
