Adjunct Instructor for Economics

PURPOSE: This is a Non-Tenure Track Adjunct position in the School of Business. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate and graduate Economics courses (as assigned) both in face-to-face and online formats in the School of Business. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning aligned with ACBSP standards.
- Collaborate with other faculty members for the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Provide appropriate classroom and online instruction for students enrolled in business course(s).
- Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
- Desired discipline-specific teaching with a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness.
- Show commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Business. Maintain professional development activities.
- Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge and skills related to teaching students in class and online.
- Exceptional interest in teaching economics and providing mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Teaching experience in methodology, curriculum development, evaluation or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
- The ability to teach in a diverse population of students.
- Minimum master's degree in economics or a business-related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
- A satisfactory criminal background check.

- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
