Fabrication Manager

Job TitleThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.Position ResponsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:Supports and directs various job families to expedite fabrication of details and assemblies.Applies process management and improvement techniques.Uses problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to fabrication problems. Facilitates work teams.Provides training and interfaces with internal organizations and external customers with regard to project planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, or Machining, including a manufacturing environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and prior experience working with cross-functional groups such as Quality, Assembly, Procurement, Supply Chain, and MachiningFlexibility to work on 2nd, 3rd, or alternative work week shiftsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor's degree with 10 years of leadership experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Chemical Metallic Finishing/Processing, Assembly, or Machining5+ years managing/supervising teams of 15+ employees and 5 years of leadership/management experience in industry or military settingsPrior executive leadership presentation experience and management-level experience reporting to Senior Leadership on department production statusBudgetary responsibility or experience reviewing associated department P&L, as well as experience reviewing, delivering, or monitoring production metricsPrior SAP experience and military management or leadership experienceComprehensive understanding of manufacturing production atmospheres, including supervising Union employees and aircraft maintenance or machiningVersatile manufacturing and machining experienceDrug Free Workplace:We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:We strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
