Job Title:  Senior Copywriter

Business Unit:  Marketing

Reports To:  Senior Manager, Copywriting (Florida) or Associate Creative Director (Medical or Recreational)

 

Role Summary

The Senior Copywriter is a digital-first creative responsible for developing effective, engaging, and on-brand copy for markets within an assigned Florida, Medical, or Recreational hub. Working across brands, audiences, and regulatory environments, the Senior Copywriter translates business objectives, consumer insights, and creative strategy into clear and compelling communications within digital, retail, and experiential channels, partnering with creative and cross-functional teams to shape messaging and deliver work from concept through final production. This role combines strong copywriting, editing, and brand storytelling skills with proficiency in AI-assisted creative workflows to deliver high-quality, compliant, and performance-driven content, including but not limited to website, e-commerce, email, SMS, mobile app, paid media, social, video, in-store screens, print, out-of-home, packaging, product naming, educational materials, and patient outreach.

 

Responsibilities

• Develop original copy and concepts for integrated campaigns, promotions, product and brand launches, customer communications, and ongoing marketing programs across markets and business needs.
• Adapt established campaign frameworks and brand standards for the distinct audiences, business priorities, product offerings, and regulatory requirements of each market, maintaining fluency and consistency of brand voice and positioning across varied audiences and channels.
• Translate creative briefs, campaign strategies, product information, consumer insights, and business objectives into focused messaging that is clear, compelling, and relevant to the intended goals.
• Collaborate with designers, creative leads, and cross-functional partners from concepting through execution, ensuring verbal and visual ideas work together to create a cohesive customer experience, participating in any project kickoffs, brainstorms, creative reviews, and presentations required to do so.
• Understand and abide by marketing compliance requirements for each of their markets while offering proactive creative solutions to effectively mitigate risk while balancing business needs.
• Evolve the organization’s copywriting function by adopting AI-assisted creative workflows to deliver high-quality, compliant, and performance-driven content at scale. Use customer insights, campaign results, and other available data to inform messaging decisions, test creative approaches, and improve future work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional copywriting, content, advertising, or related creative experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong writing, editing, conceptual thinking, brand voice development, and multichannel marketing execution.
• Exceptional copywriting, editing, proofreading, storytelling, and communication skills, with the ability to develop effective short- and long-form content across a variety of channels and audiences.
• Experience writing for digital marketing channels including web, e-commerce, email, SMS, CRM, mobile app, social media, or paid media.
• Experience developing campaigns, product launches, promotional marketing, loyalty communications, customer education, or e-commerce content.
• Understanding of customer journeys, audience segmentation, content strategy, conversion principles, and performance-informed creative development.
• Experience using generative AI and AI-assisted tools for prompt development, content creation, refinement, and workflow efficiency.
• Strong editorial judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling communications.
• Ability to collaborate with designers, marketers, and cross-functional stakeholders from concept through execution.
• Ability to interpret briefs, identify information gaps, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to present concepts to reviewers and stakeholders, clearly explain strategic and creative rationale behind copy, respond constructively to feedback, and revise work without losing strategic intent or brand integrity.
• Effective communication, collaboration, presentation, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Must meet all company employment, age, and background-screening requirements applicable to the role and work location.

• Flexibility of hours – some nights and weekends required.

 

Preferred

• Experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, cannabis, wellness, hospitality, or other high-volume consumer marketing sector, or highly regulated categories like alcohol, tobacco, or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience supporting multiple brands, markets, audience segments, or regulated industries.
• Experience with SEO, answer engine optimization (AEO), content optimization, and performance-informed creative development.
• Experience developing or maintaining brand voice systems, messaging frameworks, copy banks, prompt libraries, content templates, or content governance resources.
• Familiarity with content management systems, digital asset management platforms, project management tools like Monday.com, and creative workflow platforms.
